Abstract

For some ancestral heritage in our collective genetic code, childhood has always been linked to happiness. Without happiness there is no real childhood. But such a link is not free from conditions and hazards. The author presents three major scenarios of unhappiness: the unique thought, prioritization of adulthood as a productive stage (the kids of Saturday) and the lack of conditions for quality of life (the Coca-cola childhood). By contrast, happiness of childhood is linked to creativity and play (the Sunday children) and to the search of their own horizons beyond those imposed by adults (Ulises children).
